I have never in my entire life dealt with such a misleading and manipulative company. I’m looking at my receipt that I placed when I ordered my contacts and it says there’s a $7.95 shipping fee. Ok, fairly normal, right? Well I get my contacts today and I look at this receipt and it shows a $37 handling charge. Plus the $8 shipping charge! So these what seemed to be cheap contact lenses do not turn out to be so great afterall.

Since their website says that there is a full refund policy I say fine just refund me everything and I’ll send it all back. Well after asking about 3 times (they talk over you and say just the right thing to confuse you about whether you’re getting a FULL refund or just a “full product refund” (sneaky)) they’re still going to keep the $45 and refuse to make it right one way or another whether it be refunding just the handling charges that were not on my original receipt or refunding everything for a return. But no they say they absolutely will not and that “enough people are happy that it doesn’t matter if some people are not unhappy.”

“Samantha” who most definitely is not really named Samantha, was probably the most vile human being I’ve ever spoken to and I live in South Florida, so let’s just say that’s pretty bad. After complaining about the $45 shipping and handling fee, she said she would be “more than happy to send me a revised receipt with the one penny handling charge and raise the price of the contacts.” I just could not believe my ears at this point and had to get off the phone.

I never thought I’d consuder suing someone over $45, but they can’t keep getting away with this.

I see what she is talking about. I came here to order some and had them in my cart thinking everything checked out.

2 boxes at 59.94 should subtotal to $119.88, yet the subtotal showing in my cart prior to the shipping charge is $136.06. Almost $20 added in there that they don't disclose. Sneaky, and I will not be placing my order.

I probably wouldn't have noticed and hit submit if not for this review. Sad.

SaltyMongrel.... Hmmm, I just ordered from there and my handling fee was only $9.95.

But I have two orders so it's about $20.00 and that seems right to me (on top of the $18.00 shipping). Shipping is very expensive from middleman companies. There is no secret about it. My question to you, the complainer...

did you not agree to pay this amount? Did you not click on the "order" button? Did you not agree to the terms of use before letting them charge your card? Did you not look at the total before agreeing to charge your card and question this charge then?

So you rate a company, after you agree to their terms, in a negative manner, making accusations against an employee, tarnishing the name of a company... because YOU did not completely read, understand, go over and make the best decision for yourself?

Take some responsibility here. Seriously, this is on you.

As a fellow recipient of the terrible customer service team at opticontacts.com, I have to wholeheartedly agree with SaltyMongrel. The writing is on the wall for opticontacts.com...a competitor is coming to take them over with real leadership and solid customer service skills.

No, I did NOT agree to that amount. I have a receipt that lists nothing but the shipping charge, which was reasonable.

They hide the handling charge into the product total, so my contact lense total was $40 more than it should have been. That part, I did not notice, as I’ve never had a company blatantly steal from me before!I am looking at my receipt, and there lists no handling charge.

AT ALL.It’s unethical and it sure sounds like you are on their reputation management team. Good luck to you, they are a rude company and deserve no sympathy.
